• US State of Michigan Strengthens Trade Ties with China - Editor, 26 September 2012

The US state of Michigan is looking to strengthen trading ties by, among other measures, increasing exports of agricultural products to the influential Asian country. Governor Rick Snyder, accompanied by a number of Michigan business people, as well as the director of the state's Department of Agriculture and Rural Development Jamie Clover Adams, is currently engaged in a ten day visit in China during which time the delegation will visit six major cities, with the focus being on increasing bilateral trade and attracting foreign investment to Michigan.

• China-Canada Discuss Strengthening of Trade at APEC 2012 - Editor, 12 September 2012

The Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation Summit taking place in Vladivostok, Russia, this week will be attended by diplomats and representatives of key global businesses, providing a host of opportunities for discussions on trade between countries participating in the APEC summit. Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper and Chinese President Hu Jintao reportedly inked an agreement at the summit which will offer a measure of protection to Canadian businesses interested in investing in China. President Hu stated that China sees the relationship between Canada and China as being of 'great importance', noting that the two countries have a lot to offer each other.
